From Helmet to Suit: Identity in Motion
Night racing
Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli (Misano Adriatico, Italy). Round 4 of the CIV, Italy's premier racing series, is underway. This weekend stands as perhaps the most important of the season, though not purely for sporting reasons.
While all races award the same points, some events carry special meaning. Misano's CIV round earned its distinctive status in 2021 when it transformed from a race at an iconic circuit into something extraordinary: the racing night.
Night racing is rare in motorcycle sport, with only MotoGP and EWC also held after sunset.
The distinctive sound of superbikes hitting braking zones and corner apexes under artificial lighting creates a special spectacle that showcases the racers' exceptional skill.
After sunset, everything changes: reference points, tarmac grip, bike behavior… requiring riders to adapt quickly to perform at their best.

Trackside service
At TAILORTECH, we've attended national racing events throughout Italy (since the Vircos days), providing trackside service with fast repairs, airbag servicing, spare parts, and on-the-spot alterations. But thereʼs more to it.
The REVʼIT! TAILORTECH Racing Service isnʼt merely a support vehicle, itʼs also a showroom for our products and a social hub for enthusiasts within the Italian racing community. During this racing-night event, we met a motorcycle enthusiast with a special passion for his profession. He had a fully customised helmet with him and dreamed of a racing suit that could express his passion for both his job and track life.
From helmet to suit
In Misano, we conducted a brief technical and aesthetic consultation, then took 22 precise measurements along with a 3D scan to accurately map the client's posture and proportions. To honor his original concept, we borrowed his helmet for several days and developed the suit's color palette directly from it.
Color spec (Pantone)
PANTONE 7470 C for the petrol-green areas (background of the Flower of Life).
PANTONE 7470 C at 73% for lighter variations of the same motif.
PANTONE 241 C for the violet-to-red gradient—printed on fluorescent red leather for enhanced depth.

Proofing & interations (noguesswork):
4 print tests to verify and fine-tune Pantones.
4 print tests for the gradient (1 to lock tones, then 3 on red leather to recreate the correct effect).
1 contrast test to check sampled colors of the motif over the petrol background.Design versions: 4–5 small revisions from initial draft to final approval.

Why it’s curated
This was more than logo placement or color selection, it was intentional graphic design. The visual foundation features an interlaced Flower of Life, a geometric pattern consisting of equally-sized circles arranged in a hexagonal structure (19 complete circles plus partial ones in the traditional layout). This creates a precise grid of symmetry and intersections.
Plastic credits, briefly (customer initiative)
Part of the brief included featuring a CSR plastic credit—the client’s initiative. In simple terms, companies can purchase plastic credits to balance their plastic footprint by funding verified recovery and recycling projects. For him, it was a way to tie racing life to a concrete, personal choice in the circular-economy space. We presented it as design—clear, factual, and his. From night to identityWhat began under lights at Misano became more than a suit. It became a story that fits—technically, visually, and personally. One night; one idea; one-of-a-kind execution.
