The Pink Ribbon Suit

The Pink Ribbon Suit

How Mona Wang and TAILORTECH turned a racing suit into a canvas for purpose

At first glance, you wouldn't immediately associate Mona Wang with motorcycle racing. And it's worth noting that women are still underrepresented in track racing.

We first met Mona when our Chinese importer introduced her, promising a project we wouldn't regret taking on.

Beyond being a motorcycle rider, Mona is an artist with formal academic design training—a quality that shines through in her creative work.

Her designs possess a strong, distinctive identity while clearly demonstrating purposeful intent and design logic.

This particular artistic creation was inspired by the pink ribbon, symbol of the global cancer awareness.

Creating a pink suit for a woman is far more challenging than one might expect. Particularly when there is such a meaningful cooperation in place. The process was challenging, requiring multiple iterations to achieve the perfect nuance balance and design lines. It's a methodical journey—slow and deliberate. There are no shortcuts or quick rewards in this process—taking them would only produce another generic, identity-less pink suit for women. That's something the industry certainly doesn't need.

Looking deeper at the design reveals how intricately the pink ribbon logo is integrated into the suit's proportions, elegantly highlighting the female form.

Beyond Mona's personal suit, an additional piece was created and donated to the Shenzhen Pink Ribbon Breast Care Center as a collector's edition.

The collaboration with Mona marks the beginning of a dialogue between motorcycling and wider cultural causes. Just as the suit required iteration, balance, and intent, so too does the journey of bringing more women into racing and amplifying awareness for breast cancer. One suit will always belong to Mona, another to the Pink Ribbon Breast Care Center—but the idea behind them belongs to every rider who believes gear can be personal, expressive, and meaningful. This is just the first lap of a much longer race.
